It’s not uncommon for your stress levels to rise during the festive season. It’s the busiest time of the year and our day-to-day duties, more often than not, triple in size. Studies have even revealed that our heart rate increases by 33% while Christmas shopping (eek!). So if you’re feeling more fragile than festive this season, it’s time to treat yourself to the Ultimate Christmas Pamper this year by recreating a luxury spa day at home. Santa’s Orders!
Slip into something comfortable as the pampering has now commenced…
1. Set The Scene
First thing’s first, peel your phone away from your palm and put it on silent so you don’t encounter any interruptions. Run a warm bath for yourself, and set out a nice, fluffy robe for when you later emerge. Create a soothing, sensual ambience by lighting a few natural wax (or soy wax), essential oil based candles to ensure a non-toxic zone. Dim the lights to enhance the mood and put on your favourite bath time playlist.
2. It’s Bath Time!
Mix essential bath oils into your tub and soak for 15 minutes. While you wait for the oils to blend, pour yourself a glass of your favourite drop (this can be wine, tea or even a cocktail!). Fetch a bath pillow so that you can lay back and soak up the serenity in comfort.
3. Give Your Locks Some Love
While you’re soaking in the tub, apply a hair oil treatment to your hair. You can make your own with the ingredients here. Massage for two minutes, then either put your hair up using a butterfly clip or wrap your hair in a turban. Once your pampering session is over, you can then rinse, shampoo and condition the oils out of your hair.
4. It’s Facial Time!
No day spa would be complete without a facial. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a top shelf face mask, you can create your very own DIY face mask by using the ingredients in your pantry! Click here for a variety of DIY face masks. Add the finishing touches to your facial with two coin-cut cucumbers to place over your eyes. Cucumbers are Mother Nature’s beauty secret to reducing tired, puffy eyes.
