It’s the moment we all dread. Lifting up your arms and hearing a rip take place in the underarms of your denim jacket. Almost as bad as a tear in the backside or crotch of your jeans! Well – fear not, guys. Australian fashion label, Saint, has officially created the world’s strongest denim! Say goodbye to unexpected rips in your denim jacket.
Over the past couple of years, founders Mike Lelliott and Aidan Clarke have spent millions of dollars on crafting their single layer Unbreakable Denim fabric, which provides unrivalled protection while remaining effortlessly stylish and on-trend.
“At Saint we are all about designing unique fabrics that blend ballistic fibres with natural fibres to create all day wearable, fashion-forward men’s and women’s wardrobe,” said Lelliott. “Wardrobes that are built to protect your butt if things go random.”
How it Works
Saint’s Unbreakable Denim is woven with a unique double warp beam, which allows them to weave the world’s strongest fibre, Dyneema’s® UHMWPE. The result? A denim with 360º torsional strength and motorcycle-tested impact. This type of protection is normally reserved for heavy leathers or thick double-layer solutions that line denim with a second or third layer of protective material. Saint has reached this with a lightweight and breathable single layer denim.
“As a designer I’m all about disrupting the status quo and making a tangible difference,” said Lelliot. “This is everything Saint is about. This new category of apparel wakes us up in the morning, and keeps us smiling at night. It is an exciting uncharted map – and we are all the explorers.”
Sky’s the Limit
Saint has expanded rapidly in the single year it’s been trading, with phenomenal global momentum. The Unbreakable story has also caught the attention of a host of influencers, from Hollywood actors to F1 drivers!
“We’ve had all sorts of customers including a $17,000 order from a Saudi Prince,” said Lelliott. And can you blame him? With denim that manages to combine strength with style so effortlessly, it’s no wonder people are lining up to get their hands on a Saint Unbreakable denim jacket.
