Makeup and exercise isn’t really a winning combination. Think panda eyes, clogged pores and fiercely flushed cheeks. But perhaps you’ve recently started making eyes with a hottie from afar? Or you desperately want to flaunt a cute pout while you workout? While being a barefaced beauty is something we all wish we could pull off, sometimes all we need is a little “pick-me-up” to feel our most confident self when we workout.
While it isn’t recommended that you hit the treadmill with a full face of makeup, you can still burn calories ~beautifully~ Check out our tips below:
Ditch The Foundation
We know it’s hard, and it may cause some separation anxiety, but try to step away from your beloved foundation. The combination of both sweat and foundation will not only look like your face is melting off, it will also open the door to blocked pores and bad breakouts. If you desperately need coverage, opt for a tinted moisturiser. Not only will a tinted moisturiser even out your complexion, it will also serve your skin with a plethora of healthy benefits.
Add Some “Health”
Steer clear of bold lipsticks and shimmery blushes. If your skin is naturally quite pale, achieve a natural healthy flush with a simple cheek and lip tint. For best results, strive for that ‘your lips, but better’ look and choose a colour that is on par with your natural lip tone. Dab a little on your lips to enhance what you’ve already got and achieve a gorgeous daytime glow by applying some tint to the apples of your cheeks.
Bat Your Best Lashes
Wake up your gym look by making your eyes bigger and brighter. How? With just a flick of mascara. Now, unless you want to look like a racoon at the gym, best to use waterproof mascara. If you’re naturally blessed with thick, long lashes (and with a hint of jealousy – we salute you!), whip out the eyelash curler. If you want to step things up, give your eyebrows a little groom as well.
