Sydney Fashion Week: The Innovators
‘The Innovators’ group showcase – held annually at Sydney Fashion Week – features some of Australia’s most promising young talent from Sydney TAFE. This year’s show certainly held up to its title. These emerging designers each delivered an incredibly innovative collection, experimenting with texture, colour, structure and print in ways that can only be described as awe-inspiring.
Sydney Fashion Week with Jayson Brundson
For Jayson Brundon’s S/S 2012 collection entitled The Lady is a Tramp, guests were treated to a theatrical visual delight that eschewed the traditional Fashion Week runway show. It was our turn to walk between a host of models, who were dispersed throughout a large room standing on stone pillars, reclining on wrought iron tables or draped nonchalantly over wingback chairs.
It was a new and innovative way to view a collection that stood out from a standard catwalk. Guests were able to interact with the collection; they could view its intricate beauty in a way that isn’t afforded from the runway.
