Take your summer beauty regime to stunning new heights this season with the hottest makeup trends for summer 2017/18.

Gorgeous, glossy and gleaming – these are just a few words to describe the in-thing for your skin right now. The no-makeup look is out, and instead, we’re digging the dancing queen by renewing our love for starry eyes, electric lashes, bold lips and sunset streaks.

Glossy Lids

Fiercely feminine and totally ab-fab-sweetie, darling – the sultry, glossy lid is all the rage this season. Achieving this look is a lot easier than you may think. You can either invest in a brand new eye gloss, or save your pennies and reach for your trusty jar of Vaseline (most likely located in your bathroom cabinet). This technique is simple; just apply your eye shadow and then “glossify” by swooping on a coat of Vaseline over the top of eye shadow.

Sunset Eyes

Sunset eyes are fresh, sexy and anything but dull. Whether you’re basking in the sun outdoors with storm clouds rolling in, or enjoying your favourite drop at a hip downtown bar, this look is your new best friend this summer. If you’re unsure of what colours to use for this look, pretty pinks and peach palettes are flattering hues for everyone, while mellow yellows will add a touch of sun-kissed elegance to your summertime glow.

Glowing Cheekbones

Not only will this trend emphasise your bone structure and give you a flawless face-lift, it will bring elegance to your overall look. Apply your blush, powder or bronzer to the apples of your cheeks, and then gently pat a tasteful pink hued lip-gloss or lip balm high up on the cheekbones to catch the light.

Luscious Lips

Go bold or go home this summer! The power of the pout is totally underrated, in our opinion. A bold lip can define and enhance your look with just one application. Vampire lips dominated the NYFW runways with deep purples, plums and maroons, while candy apple reds and pretty pinks are lightening and brightening fashion magazines everywhere.
