We’re all familiar with the ‘New Year, New You’ mantra, and while we don’t want you to change who you are, we totally get the urge to embrace a new look this year. And what better way to do so than with a new ‘do?

2016 was all about Gatsby bobs, braids and shaved heads, but this year, we’re crushing on all new hair trends for 2017.

Straight, Sleek and Chic

We’re taking inspiration from the “it” girls of 2016, like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, and archiving all photos featuring their straight, shiny and perfectly parted hair. So dust off your ghd and start ironing this summer! But remember, this look only looks boss if your locks are looking luscious and healthy, so make sure you utilise your hair treatments and heat protectants accordingly.

Au Naturale

Easy, breezy, beautiful, embracing natural, untamed hair is an ode to real beauty. Not only does this look require very minimal effort (a few swift brushes), it’s a guaranteed way to enhance your natural self this year. For extra volume and flyaway control, don’t be afraid to add a little hair spray.

Boyish Good Looks

Think short, unruly and effortlessly cool. We saw the androgynous look make a bold comeback last year with the whole shaved head phenomenon. And while we still dig the Sinead O’Conner look, 2017 certainly paves the way for a little growth. Ideal for angular facial features like high cheekbones and sharp jawlines, boyish locks will frame your face and open the doors to countless new styling options.

Riots of Colour

Whether you want to revisit Marc Jacob’s SS16 neon 90’s rave runway show featuring glow in the dark locks and galaxy shades, or go green with the succulent-inspired trend, this is the year to embrace colour in a big way! Make a statement this 2017 and colour outside of the lines with a vibrant new hue that will signify the new you!
