Colour Me Happy!

15.Aug,2012

Bold black eyes of the feline persuasion may have dominated the spring runways, but for autumn/winter it was all about technicolour. From bursts of bright blue at Anna Sui to burnt orange and purple at Prada, coloured eyes made for some truly stunning beauty looks. See our top picks below.

‘Neo-noir’ was the inspiration at 3.1 Phillip Lim, which translated into neon pink and raspberry red  lids shadowed by charcoal to mimic the artistic style of the classic superhero comics.

Eyes at Anna Sui were painted a brilliant cobalt blue for a dramatic sixties feel, finished off with hand-colored, hand-cut circular stickers below the lower lash line.

The cobalt trend continued over at Stella McCartney, who coated eyelashes in the bright hue.

Perhaps the most dramatic eye of the RTW season, Prada employed the key hues from her autumn/winter collection to create a three layered feast of sweeping colour.

Roberto Cavalli also worked the tri-colour look with pops of shimmering blue, green, and gold pigment anchored by a good smack of classic black.

Dries Van Noten went with a blend of rust, mandarin and burnt orange on the lids for instant ethereality. Skin was kept pale and dewy, while lips were lined with a natural crayon for a muted, matte finish.
