Room to Grow: Fashion Oversized
Bigger appeared to be better this season, with many designers moving to dramatically oversized outerwear and roomy bottoms for their autumn/winter looks.
We’re all for an oversized coat or a louche pair of slacks flying solo, but we’re not totally sold when they’re paired together…
Backstage at Proenza Schouler
Oversizing started off relatively small with these chic car coats at Jil Sander.
Celine followed suit (so to speak), serving up another selection of the dramatic silhouette.
Balenciaga left plenty of room in sporty sweaters and bomber style outerwear…
while Proenza Schouler paired loose fit pants with giant leather biker jackets.
There was a bit of a circus vibe at Comme des Garcons, who showed a long series of colourful tent-like ponchos in a range of vivid prints.
And a discussion of oversized fashion this season just wouldn’t be complete without mention of those Dr Seuss-esque hats at Marc Jacobs!
