Sydney Fashion Week: Our Favourite Fashion from Day 2
MBFWA day 2 delivered us another series of striking collections and innovative design, reminding us that Aussies can really hold their own in an international fashion industry. Read on for the pics and reviews from our favourite shows.
Zimmerman
Aussie favourite Zimmerman kicked off day 2 in the heart of Sydney’s Surry Hills, presenting yet another carefully considered, beautifully constructed and completely accessible womenswear collection entitled Clique Clique.
The vibe was ultra-feminine, featuring floral blooms and digital prints and in a series of pastel-perfect hues. Tailoring was both sleek and structured, creating a wonderful blend of powerful and pretty. A oversized mesh cotton used throughout the collection added texture and interest to many looks, and is sure to be a hit come the summer months.
Magdalena Velevska
A relative newcomer to the fashion stage, Magdalena Velevska has rapidly reached national and international acclaim for her superior understanding of forms and bold use of colour.
Her second Fashion Week collection entitled Phosphoressance was another visual delight; featuring clean, minimal silhouettes embellished by artful embroidery, subtly folkish fringing and precision sequin-work.
Jayson Brunsdon
Jayson Brundon‘s installation show on Tuesday night was certainly an experience to remember! Head back to the bEx blog tomorrow as we check out the beauty, the show and head to the exclusive after party!
